About me and my therapy practice

I am a BACP Accredited counsellor with experience in working with adults and young people.

My approach is not "one size fits all" but I work with each client individually, listening carefully, tailoring my work to meet the requirements of each person.

CHANGE DUE TO COVID-19 During individual counselling sessions of up to 50 minutes per session, daytime or early evening, I can offer TELEPHONE, VIDEO OR OUTDOOR FACE TO FACE SESSIONS.

I have also trained in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy using the EAGALA Model, this means counselling sessions with clients can take place outdoors, or in the field with horses, using the horses and surrounding area to work therapeutically using metaphor. Sessions are tailored to the needs of individuals; please contact me if you wish to explore this way of working together.

I provide a confidential service, welcoming, non-judgemental; an opportunity for talking about issues, exploring options and processing emotions. In the professional counselling relationship I aim to be authentic, using integrity, respect and empathy, encouraging clients to make their own decisions and to develop resilience in coping with issues. I work within the bacp ethical framework. In addition to my work with adults, I also have several years experience counselling with young people; students with exam stress and coping with student life, and experience of working in secondary schools helping pupils with various issues including anger, self-esteem, self-harm, relationships. Contact me by either telphone or email for more information, or to arrange an initial session when we can discuss face to face and consider whether counselling would be the best next step for you.

Practice description

I am pleased to say that I am now able to offer some face to face counselling sessions which can take place OUTDOORS at my property. Observing the current government guidelines for preventing the spread of coronavirus, the chairs will be at least 2m apart, under a roof canopy, observing social distance at all times, each client will have a fresh chair that has been in storage for at least 72 hours. Payment can be contactless by card-reader, or bank transfer, and there is no exchange of paperwork.

I am also able to offer TELEPHONE or VIDEO sessions according to the clients preference.

My first session

The first session, like all sessions, can be either telephone, video or outdoors face to face observing 2 metres distance according to current government guidelines.

During the initial session we can discuss whether counselling sessions with me are the best next step for you, considering your situation, health and what you would like to find in counselling.
