About me and my therapy practice

My name is Joanne and I fully believe that there is healing through meeting. I also believe that seeking a therapeutic environment is a sign of resource not a sign of failure.
The therapy I offer is a safe space to belong, feel significant, be seen, be heard.
You are a human being who needs:
to experience a sense of justice and fairness
to have a sense of security and belonging
to be safe, valued, accepted and loved
to experience and manage a range of emotions
to have a sense of hope, belief, purpose and meaning in your life.
It may not be the first time you have told your story, but perhaps through our work together it will be the first time you have experienced your story being heard.

There is a power that comes with the telling of one’s truth, it can be the first step to greater self-discovery. It need not be rushed, it can be shared at a pace that suits you.
You will be met with an open ear, empathy, and non-judgement. Our therapy process will be unique to us.

‘What has happened to you’? What is your story?
How did it affect you? Perhaps you felt/feel afraid, abandoned, trapped, helpless, invaded, overwhelmed, emotionally empty, excluded ?
What sense did you make of it? Were you left feeling that you were not understood?
