About me and my therapy practice
An experienced person-centred relational Counsellor and Therapist, my private practice is based in central Bristol. I adopt an integrative relational approach to counselling and therapy and a holistic view of healing.
I firmly believe in giving my clients ownership of the therapeutic process and will adapt my approaches and suggest ways of working that are aligned with your lived experiences and therapeutic goals. Empathic, attuned and non-judgemental, I aim to offer an experienced safe holding experience for anyone considering therapy. Core to my approach is the relationship I establish with my clients: a safe and completely supportive platform serving as a springboard for growth and healing.
As part of the LGBTQ+ community, I have had my own lived experiences of discrimination, shame and internalised homophobia. I am also running research into mental health issues facing the community and how to help work with the community to help resolve these, as well as lobby for change. My experiences as part of the LGBTQ+ community led me to co-found Talk to the Rainbow, a centre for LGBTQ+ therapeutic excellence.
I have extensive training and experience working with substance misuse/addiction, internalised trans/homo/phobia, stress, anxiety, depression, suicide, bereavement, depression, complex/multiple diagnoses and trauma. I am also qualified to work with young persons/adolescents and children.
Apart from my private practice I am a Director of Talk to the Rainbow and work as a Counsellor for Bristol Mind’s LGBTQ+ team, Meeting Minds.
