About me and my therapy practice

I live in Kingswinford in the West Midlands. My roots are humble and I am proud of them. They have made me who I am today. I am honest, friendly and down to earth. It is my personal experience of counselling, and the benefits thereof, that lead me to qualify as a counsellor. I am passionate about mental health, having not only worked in the sector for several years but also struggled with my own traumatic history and mental health (and the stigma surrounding it). I want to give my clients time and the chance to be really heard, to be visible, validated and understood without judgement.

Rest assured, I don't shock easily.

Practice description

Are you feeling alone, depressed, disorientated and empty, or overwhelmed and as if your head is spinning? Let's sit a while, taking time to contemplate, explore and reflect.

I appreciate how difficult it can be to take that first step, If you are unsure if counselling is for you, get in touch. I am very down to earth, and will put no expectations on you. We can work together to explore what is troubling you.

I am a person-centered counsellor and a registered member of the BACP (MBACP) and an Accredited Member of the NCPS. Providing counselling for many reasons including: depression, anxiety, bereavement, miscarriage, pet loss, family problems, relationship difficulties, homelessness, child abuse, domestic violence, power exchange (BDSM), abortion, adopting, menopause and dyspraxia.

I have an interest in and experience of working with clients with P-Ocd & S-Ocd using Exposure Therapy and CBT.

My first session

During our first session, I will get to know you a little bit,  and we can see whether we think we can work together.  I will ask you some questions, your contact details etc. and let you know about how I work.  Reassuring you over the confidentiality aspects and so on.

There is no right or wrong way for you to be in the session. I invite you to come, and be you, as you are, and how you feel at that time. One session may be completely different to the next and that is absolutely fine.

Are you anxious about taking that first step? That's perfectly normal! I've been there too!
