About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I'm Alex, a qualified and experienced integrative counsellor working with adults and young people 18+.

Life can be difficult at times and although we might have coping mechanisms to see us through, sometimes they are aren't quite enough and it can become overwhelming to cope alone.

Perhaps you find yourself struggling with a current situation, or maybe past events are affecting your present, leaving you feeling anxious, or lost, and this prevents you moving forward? Whatever your experiences, my aim is to facilitate and encourage you to explore new coping strategies, find deeper self-awareness, make your own choices and find your own answers. Making the decision to seek counselling takes courage and I understand it may feel daunting.

With an approach that is warm, relational and supportive, I work collaboratively, tailoring my approach to your individual needs by utilising different elements from several therapeutic models, including psychodynamic, person-centred, solution focused, transactional analysis and transpersonal.

I have extensive experience in supporting young adults as a counsellor in university well-being settings. Additionally, I volunteered as a bereavement counsellor in palliative care for two years.

Practice description

A nurturing relationship between therapist and client is a powerful catalyst for healing, promoting self-awareness and lasting change, and our relationship will be built on trust, respect, realness and honesty. This enables you to share freely and not feel judged. I will not give advice, but rather help you find your own answers and decisions through an objective lens. Together, we can explore what you would like to be different and how I can support you in achieving this.

I offer a free 20 minute phone consultation to discuss your needs and answer any questions you may have. It is also an opportunity for you to get a sense of me, and if I'm the right practitioner for you.

I currently offer face to face sessions from my practice at The Eaves in Godalming. Rooms are private and peaceful, and COVID-19 secure measures are in place to protect clients. In addition, I also offer online sessions via Zoom.
