About me and my therapy practice
Are you struggling with life? The impact of living through a pandemic, on top of our ‘everyday’ concerns can be difficult. We might feel anxious, stressed, depressed, isolated, alone, sad, fearful, uncertain, ‘different’, and/or overwhelmed. Talking to a trained professional can help to process these emotions and make them feel more manageable.
I'm Dawn Boultwood, a BACP-registered counsellor offering online counselling sessions. I have worked with people who have come to therapy for many different reasons including anxiety, generalised anxiety disorder, panic attacks, panic disorder, stress, depression, feelings of sadness, low mood, low self-esteem, low self-confidence, unwanted thoughts or fears, bereavement, fertility problems, relationship problems, family issues, work-related stress, accident/illness, and difficulty coping with a past event. All these challenges can make life feel overwhelming, all can seem hopeless, you can feel alone, lost, trapped, directionless, stressed and anxious
HOW COUNSELLING CAN HELP
Through life’s tough times you might feel that you need a different kind of support to that which your family/friends can offer. Counselling can give you an opportunity to discuss your concerns with a professional who is outside of your situation, and help you explore/process your thoughts, feelings and experiences.
My aim as a counsellor is to understand what your world is like for you, and what you are like as a unique individual, so that together we can identify, explore and understand the specific issues that are troubling you and work to resolve them. In doing so I aim to enable you so that you can process any difficult thoughts or emotions, help you to put your worries and fears into perspective, feel hope where all previously felt hopeless, and help you to feel better able to cope and in more control of your life.
MY WORKING PRACTICE
I work to build trust, mutual respect and the desire to work in partnership during my sessions, supporting, respecting and valuing my clients as I do so. I do this in a caring, comfortable, confidential and non-judgemental, safe way, so clients can feel thoughtfully and sensitively listened to, and that their stories have been effectively heard.
I offer online sessions, and currently have a range of slots available. Please contact me for further information.
