I am now offering face to face appointments again and welcoming clients old and new back to the Summer House. I have a comprehensive Covid policy in place to reassure you of the safety of my practice and a copy will be sent to you on request and when you book an appointment.
If you would prefer I am still able to offer telephone counselling sessions. These are different but can be equally effective. You would need to find a space that is quiet, comfortable and private at a time when you would not be disturbed. I would call at an agreed time from a private landline and as usual everything would be totally confidential.
About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified and experienced Person-centred counsellor and I will listen to you with care, openly and without judgement. I know at times that life can feel difficult and I will help you face the challenges in your life. There are no topics that are out of bounds and together we will explore the issues that are causing your distress and I will support you to gain control of your situation.
I treat all people with respect, regardless of any differences, and I have helped people from many different cultures and communities. During the sessions I will help you to identify your personal solutions to your individual dilemmas. I work with people of all ages and have also helped adults in NHS clinics, including sexual health. I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling from Keele University and I have undertaken additional qualifications with Place2Be, a specialist service for schools. I have counselled young people in schools and I have enhanced DBS status which is necessary for working with children.
I aim to keep my charges affordable to allow counselling to be accessible to as many people as possible. These are £45 for each session and payment can be made on the day in cash or by bank transfer before the session takes place.
I would like to invite you into the peace and tranquility of the Summer House, a private, dedicated building in central Knowle. It overlooks the secluded garden with views of the sky, flowers, plants and trees. It is light and airy, and envelops you with calmness and has been described by clients as 'a haven', 'welcoming', 'safe'.
There is free on-site parking and bus services come regularly into Knowle and the church is the nearest stop.
Please visit my website where you can find more information and also see a location map and photographs of the Summer House, www.solihullcounselling.co.uk.
I offer face-to-face consultations from Monday to Friday, in the day or evening, with some availability at the weekend. The sessions last for 50 minutes, usually at the same time each week. This can be a short or long-term arrangement according to your preference.
Just send a text 07804 944 206, or email to arrange an appointment. If you prefer to phone then please be aware that I will not always be able to answer your call so please leave a message and I will call you back as soon as possible or according to your instructions. We can discuss telephone counselling if this is what you would prefer.
My first session
The first session will be for us to get to know one another.
There will be a short form to complete with personal details and emergency contact numbers, doctor etc. It is entirely up to you what information you want to give. The form can be emailed to you prior to the session if you would prefer and brought along on the day or emailed back to me, the choice is yours.
I will explain how I work and then you can tell me your story and any background of which you would like me to be aware.
This develops into a counselling session to fill the 50 minutes.
