About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Louise, a warm and welcoming counsellor. As well as online counselling (via zoom or Wellola Talk), or the phone, I do counselling outdoors around the Worthing area.
'Walk and Talk' / Outdoor Counselling.
Walking can help stimulate thoughts and ideas and it connects your body and mind. Walking side by side with a counsellor feels very natural and it’s a great change from our increasingly online lives. We can discuss routes suitable for you.
This can be an option even if you're not a great walker - it can just be about being outside and we can find a spot to sit and talk.

I realise you can feel nervous about talking to a stranger but I offer a free first 20 minute session so we can have a chat to see if we can work together.
There are so many benefits to counselling. Sometimes there are things that have happened in your past that need to be let go or accepted which can give room for you to enjoy your present and your future. Learning to love yourself is empowering and it means others are more likely to respond to you more positively. Your communication and socialising skills will very likely improve and you will learn to change that voice in your head to a positive one.
What you can expect from me
My main training is Person-centred counselling which very much describes how I work. You are at the centre of our time together. You can talk and be heard in confidence with no judgement. I am outside your personal life and abide by a code of ethics which means you can share with me what you might not feel you can share with those close to you.
I offer counselling outdoors, on the phone or by video (Zoom and Wellola Talk) and this can be changed on a week by week basis if you like. I can travel and meet you from Shoreham to Littlehampton and the surrounding areas. We will decide together a meeting point which could be near where you live, on the seafront or on the Downs.
I can offer short-term or long-term counselling depending on your needs. Either way, we will regularly review our work together so that you get the best from your sessions to understand yourself better, explore feelings or make changes in your life. It will be at your pace.
If counselling online or on the phone seems daunting, I can help. I have chosen Zoom and Wellola Talk for online sessions as it is recommended due to good confidentiality measures. I can help you set this up and explain how it works.
My first session
The first free 20-minute session will be on the phone or by Zoom, whichever suits you best.
I understand, and remember, that going to see a counsellor for the first time can can make you feel anxious but please don’t worry. I will be warm and welcoming and our first session will be an opportunity for you to tell me a bit about you and what you want from counselling. You will also be able to ask me any questions you may have about how we will work together.
We are all different and we all come to counselling for different reasons. All counsellors are different too and it is important to choose the right one for you. For this reason I offer a free first 30 minute session so that we can decide if we can work together. Whatever the reason you are looking for support through counselling I will accept you and give you a safe space for us to work towards a better you.
