About me and my therapy practice

Attempting to navigate through overwhelming emotions can be very challenging. My specialism and experience is in working with children and teens and with parents / families in therapy. If you are a parent who is finding it difficult to support a child’s mental health needs or non school attendance please get in contact for support. An an ex teacher I have a vast knowledge of education as well.

I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor and in qualified in Theraplay. I work from my office in Wickersley, office in Dinnington, in many schools and for a youth centre. By visiting schools this avoids disruption to a young persons day.

My work is done creatively, client led, non judgemental and with empathy. I can work through many issues such as anxiety, depression, behavioural issues, self-harm or self-esteem issues or bereavement and loss. I also specialise in working with ASD and ADHD, either diagnosed or suspected. I also have experience in working with young people with PDA.

I offer an initial free appointment to discuss the suitability of my therapy. Here we can discuss if you would like to progress to a face to face appointment.

I do work with adults as well who prefer a creative approach to therapy

Practice description

I am fully invested in what I do and work with clients through a rollercoaster of emotions and worries. This can help build more positive relations with peers, families and other people in their lives. I also work with school issues to offer support in issues like and attendance and bullying. Whilst I don't have magic answers to problems, I do have many skills to enable the young person to find their own way through difficult times. All my work is client focused and I always work at a pace that suits each person. I never place any pressure on anyone I work with.

I can either work at your child's school or in a friendly neutral and non-judgmental, but most of all safe space. My specialisms are self-esteem, self harm , bereavement and loss anxiety, stress and depression.

Counselling sessions are from £50

My first session

The first session starts with an assessment of the child or young person's needs to see if we can work well together. It is really important that the child or young person feels comfortable opening up to me, therefore I give them an opportunity to tell me if they do not want to meet again.
