About me and my therapy practice

Hello and thank you for reading my profile.

I am a qualified and registered counsellor and psychotherapist. I provide a safe and confidential space and years of experience to facilitate you in your exploration, growth and ultimate recovery. I will work hard to understand your expectations of your therapy and of me and your hopes and fears for the future. I will listen and help make sense of the things that matter to you and you will receive considerate, respectful, age-appropriate and concentrated attention.

I believe we have to be prepared to do what we can and sometimes we succeed and sometimes we do not. By taking the risk to explore experiences and challenge thoughts we open ourselves to finding out what is possible.

I work within the BACP ethical framework and I am committed to respecting the rights of others and their human experience. I have over 30 years-experience of working with adults, young people, children and families, couples and groups, in a variety of settings and with a wide range of concerns. I have a particular interest in trauma and have research and clinical experience of trauma.

I have a wide range of therapeutic interests, including: sexual abuse, domestic violence, addiction, bereavement and loss (sibling death and later life), anxiety, feelings of emptiness and isolation, lack of meaning or sense of purpose, suicidal thoughts, stress, relationships, depression, older life transition, attachment/parenting, eating disorders (particularly over eating), adoption and disability
