About me and my therapy practice

Taking an inner journey of self-discovery through the therapeutic process you will discover that although life happens out there, it's how we respond to what happens that ultimately defines us. By becoming more self-aware I will help you to define yourself from the inside out - to find an inner peace and strength that will improve your life.

Life can be tough and challenging and to varying degrees we all suffer from the complexities of day-to-day living. You may be struggling to find meaning in your life or have a crisis of faith or suffer from grief following bereavement. Perhaps you find yourself repeating negative behaviour patterns but don't understand why and therefore find it difficult to make positive changes.

You may have experienced a difficult childhood or perhaps you were at the mercy of poor parenting, either through ignorance and neglect or wilful abuse. You may be suffering from depression, low self-esteem, lack of confidence, relationship issues, financial worries, or death anxiety.

Being unable to see a way forward you can feel trapped in your own life. How can you escape these negative and damaging thoughts and emotions, how can you cope with life's adversities? Well, you can start by talking about what's facing you and expressing exactly how you feel in a safe and non-judgemental space with someone who has the right set of skills to help you.

I believe trust is key to effective therapy, and once that’s established, with your consent I will be there with you at every step of your journey out of darkness and into a brighter future.

The first step is often the hardest, but once you’ve committed to entering a therapeutic relationship and have begun an inner journey of self-discovery you won't look back.

Practice description

Online Counselling

Hi, my name is Colin McMorran and I'm a BACP Registered Therapeutic Counsellor practicing exclusively online. Through Personal Transformation Therapy my clients are changing their lives. My clients are finding online therapy is effective and convenient. I also work as a Specialist Mental Health Student Mentor and am an ACAS Certified Internal Workplace Mediator (CIWM, OCR Accrediting body).

Platforms

I'm working online via WhatsApp Video, iPhone FaceTime, Skype - telephone counselling is also an option.

What I offer

I offer an online space in which issues that can be difficult to discuss can be explored in a confidential and non-judgemental way. This takes the form of talking therapy / personal mentoring.

These issues can include anxiety, depression, lack of confidence, relationship issues, financial worries, grief following loss of a loved one and fear of death. You may be suffering from low mood/depression, low self-esteem or intimacy issues.

How we will work together

The therapeutic process will go at your pace for as long as you need, tackling difficult subjects when you feel you’re ready. We will be looking below the surface to understand the roots of the problem as well as developing strategies to help you to cope better and interrupt patterns of unhelpful behaviour and ways of thinking. When it feels right we will drop deeper into your psyche and explore your inner world and connect with the core of your being.

By exploring your own life and how your past experiences have shaped the person you’ve become, you can begin a process of self-realisation and over time self-acceptance. As Carl Rogers said, ‘The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change’. Once we can truly see ourselves we are better able to see others and this can bring about positive change, leading to deeper relationships and a life of meaning and purpose.
