As of July 2020 I am returning to conducting sessions in person at my consulting room.
About me and my therapy practice
I have returned to conducting sessions in person. The pandemic may have been a time of uncertainty, anxiety and loss for you. Relationships at home and at work may feel strained and emotions may be running high. Often past problems re-emerge and you may need to talk in confidence about all that troubles you.
The therapy I offer is a place for you to talk in confidence about the anxieties and experiences that are troubling you. Difficult feelings like frustration, fear, anger and confusion may be particularly present in you at the moment as a result of social isolation.
Your feelings may be overwhelming, disturbing, complicated or confusing. Your relationships, work, home or family life may be affected by the troubles you have.
I believe that our environment, past experiences and an unknown or unconscious element to our lives shapes the feelings we have, the relationships we are in and the difficulties we encounter.
Bad experiences, change, loss and illness are just some factors that can be trigger feeling low or lonely, anxious or depressed. Sometimes feelings can seem as if they come from nowhere or old ways of thinking and acting can recur.
Talking, sharing and thinking in therapy with me has the potential to open up different ways of feeling and then different ways of living. Talking in the short and long term can help.
My first session
Your first session with me is a 90 minute consultation. Here I am interested in hearing about your current difficulties and gaining a picture of your past life experiences and relationship history. This initial consultation allows you to see how it feels to talk to me before you commit to the therapy.

About me and my therapy practice
My main aim is to listen to you and help you understand how and why you feel as you do. I want to work with you to facilitate the changes you may be desperate for so you can live a life less toxic, less troubled or less lonely.
I am interested in what you're struggling with - it could be anything like relationship problems, trauma, bad thoughts, a stuck feeling about yourself, work stress, difficulties with sex. We start here and then I like to think about your recent and long term past.
I won't judge you, interrupt you or hurry you. I will reflect on what you tell me and what I feel you can't. The unspoken or unexplored elements of you are important. I'm a psychodynamic psychotherapist and counsellor, I believe past and present relationships are linked and in working with me the working relationship we build matters a great deal.
During the current Covid-19 circumstances I am conducting session by phone and/or FaceTime/video link.
