About me and my therapy practice
Who am I and why come to therapy?
I am Scott and I am Humanistic and Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist. Challenges that life brings can at times make us feel that we can't move forward. Therapy gives us the chance to reach out to someone who can help us. Sometimes we want to change but don't have the tools to do it by ourselves. Therapy enables us to discover who we truly are, to heal old wounds, and move on to the next stage in our lives, becoming who we were meant to be and allowing us to live our lives to our full potential.
What I believe and how I can help you.
I fundamentally believe that all of us have the ability to change to become the best version of ourselves, whatever that may be. Each of us is beautifully unique and I embrace that uniqueness. I believe that true change occurs when people are offered a relationship that is different to what they have experienced before. This is why I offer my clients a relationship based on empathy, understanding and that is non-judgmental, where you can explore your feelings and experiences safely and where we face them together. I am trained to integrate different theories of psychotherapy so that we can gain a greater insight into what you have experienced and what is going on in the present moment.
I can work both long and short term depending on what issues you would like to bring to therapy.
