About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced counsellor based in city centre. I offer a warm and empathic space for us to work collaboratively on your issues. I work with integrity and compassion to support you to express, explore and start to process your experience and emotions to enable you to engage more fully with life. I am open to whatever you bring to counselling and will start from where you are, including a place of feeling stuck or simply not knowing.
How counselling can help: Counselling can help us recognise the importance of discovering our own values and beliefs and gives us space to be the truest version of ourselves with confidence and without judgement. It can provide ways in which we can learn how to articulate our rights and to vocalise our thoughts, sometimes for the first time. Counselling provides a unique space for connection, strengthening our sense of self and a deepening understanding of our relationships. Through paying attention to how we are feeling we are increasing our self-awareness and giving space to the possibility of self care and healing.
How I work: Starting therapy can be daunting so I aim to help you feel at ease to tell me about what has led you to seek counselling. I believe it is important that you understand the therapeutic process and your progress in counselling so I regularly offer and invite feedback. We will work together to decide the focus of the sessions, you are in control of what you chose to speak about and the pace at which we work. My emphasis is on helping you to identify and work through the causes of difficult issues, while supporting you emotionally to move forward.
