About me and my therapy practice

At the heart of my work I am a person-centred counsellor offering a safe and confidential space free of judgement and criticism. Our work is a collaborative process with the opportunity to explore and examine the struggles you currently face. Having a dedicated time to focus on yourself in an environment that offers insight and understanding can lead to a greater understanding of what stops you feeling your very best. The benefits of counselling can be improved self-esteem, greater confidence, less anxiety reduced feelings of stress and a better relationship with self and others. Not only do these benefits help with your mental health but also create better physical well-being. I hold a recognised qualification in Therapeutic Counselling and Clinical Supervision and continue to develop my knowledge in specialist areas of counselling. I am a member of the BACP and undergo regular supervision to maintain a highly robust and ethical service to all my clients.

Practice description

I currently offer online counselling and telephone counselling to both young people and adults. Online counselling is offered via Zoom and continues to prove successful in helping many people achieve their goals and improving mental health and well-being.

My clients have described my style as non-judgemental, thoughtful. supportive, nurturing and compassionate. I offer a safe and confidential space which promotes honesty, exploration, learning and positive change.

As a clinical supervisor I work with both trainee and qualified professionals. I offer insight, guidance and therapeutic support within a confidential and ethical space. I offer one to one supervision and also run Group Supervision.

My first session

I offer a free 15 minute telephone consultation at a time that suits you. If you are happy to work with me and I feel I can offer you what you need we would engage in a more in depth assessment.

Through years of experience I have learnt the value of an initial assessment which is a collaborative effort that enables us to formulate a plan to make sure you are getting the right help and support that you deserve. I will focus purely on you to better understand your presenting issues and your reason for committing to the counselling process. The consultation is the perfect opportunity for you to ask me any questions you may have and to express what you need from me and to understand how I can help you. This session is slightly longer than a standard counselling session and so carries a slightly higher fee.

The Initial assessment fee for counselling is £75.

About me and my therapy practice

As a Clinical Supervisor I work from a person-centred approach using the seven eyed model of supervision. I offer insight, guidance, and therapeutic support within a confidential and ethical space. I will support you in any area of your work you wish to explore which often includes your clients’ presenting issues, your process in the therapeutic relationship and helping you maintain ethics and boundaries within your work. I also encourage reflecting on your own self-care. Supervision is a great opportunity to get to know yourself and your clients in greater depth.

Practice description

As a clinical supervisor I continue to supervise and support many trainee counsellors at the very beginning of their journey right through to them qualifying. This is a great privilege and I always offer a relaxed but safe space for learning to take place. I pride myself in the service I offer and have received very positive feedback from my supervisees.

I also supervise qualified counsellors in private practice many of which I have worked with since they were trainees.  My approach is open, honest, and ethical. I offer one to one supervision and also run Group Supervision for organisations.

I provide Reflective Practice Groups for organisations who want to support the well-being of their members of staff. This process focuses on the emotional well-being of each member and the group as a whole. This can lead to a growth in resilience and a healthier more productive work life. This benefits staff and organisations as a whole.

My work has included running Reflective Practice Groups for designated safeguarding leads, teachers, and support staff in a number of educational settings. My model of working can be adapted to fit organisations in other sectors too.

My first session

In our first session we will discuss what you need from supervision and what I can offer you. I will go through my supervision contract with you which outlines the way I work and the boundaries we will agree to work within. We will discuss frequency and duration of sessions and you are welcome to ask me any questions you may have.
