About me and my therapy practice
If you are considering having counselling or psychotherapy it’s likely that you have arrived at a point where you feel it’s time to work with a professional to find a way to change something that’s troubling you. Whether this is due to an experience you’ve been through, or feeling a lack of direction in life, talking through your situation can help.
I am a qualified UKCP registered psychotherapist working with adults in person and online, offering short-term and long-term support, helping people improve their emotional and psychological wellbeing.
The benefits of talking to a professional
People tell me that talking to therapist who isn’t part of their daily life means they don’t have to worry about burdening a family member or friend with their worries, or get advice on what to do, and this frees them to share their thoughts and feelings openly without pressure. Also, people highlight that they never feel judged in our sessions which helps them feel comfortable and relaxed which is further supported by our sessions being confidential. These are all vital conditions for therapy to be effective and my aim is to create an environment where you can feel safe to share what you need to, as well as feel you are not on your own.
Get in touch
If you would like to find out more please get in touch with me. I will contact you to arrange a free 15-minute informal telephone call allowing us to briefly discuss what you want to work on and whether it would help to proceed with an initial consultation which would allow for a more in-depth exploration of your needs and how I can be of help.
I look forward to hearing from you.
I work holistically and help you to become more self-aware of the way you think and feel about your experiences and the impact they’ve had on you, which determine the choices you make every day. Change requires making different choices and these two areas are central in the healing process, and in discovering new solutions.
My first session
The first step is for us to speak on the phone briefly so that we can discuss your needs and also allows me to have a sense of whther I can support you, and then potnetially followed by an initial consultation that would give us more time to talk about what brings you to therapy, and how I can help you. In this consultation I will ask you to tell me about your concerns in more detail, and I may ask other questions about your relationships and history. There is no obligation to go beyond the intitial consultation.
