About me and my therapy practice

Trauma Counselling
I help people who have experienced trauma regain control of their lives. By working through your trauma you begin to understand the impact the trauma has had on you, your emotions, thoughts and actions. You get a better understanding of your triggers and learn to manage them. Through time they will become less frequent and less upsetting.

Recovering from your trauma is possible regardless of when it happened; recently or decades ago.
Counselling can put an end to your suffering, help you accept your reality and be free to move on.

Loss and Bereavement Counselling
I work with people who have been affected by loss. We work to understand the impact it has had on you, how you can grieve in a way that helps you and accept your new reality.

Loss can be life changing and regrettably inevitable.
Therapy can help you comprehend your loss and come to terms with it.  You can explore how you are feeling without fear of upsetting someone, being silenced by well-meaning comments like "we're all missing X" or being judged for how you feel.

I  have previously worked for charities which specialise in working with Survivors of abuse; physical, sexual, domestic, mental and neglect from the past through to the present.
I supported clients to work through various traumas and losses ranging from mild to complex.

I am available to work with businesses who wish to provide their staff with counselling.

I am also available to work with people in the event of critical incidents (major disasters, accidents etc) while it is ongoing, or in the aftermath. This can be people who have directly experienced it witnessed it in some way.
