About me and my therapy practice

Bolton based fully qualified to advanced level Integrative counsellor / psychotherapist providing therapy for all age groups and issues... other certificates include ASIST (suicide interruption) also an Accredited Counsellor via Tavistock, CCfD (Couple Counselling for Depression) IAPT provision... also StopSO Qualified to work reparatively with offenders and their family.

First session generally includes a discussion of what’s going on for you, and what your goal might be, and what obstacles are intruding on that success.

Some time will be invested in getting to know you and exploring your way of thinking and challenging fixed beliefs.

Everything we do has a payoff of some description which is part and parcel if being a human being, but many of our default settings are simply inherited and potentially outdated, and no longer serve us anymore.  These are the things we can evaluate and uncover what you want moving forward, and how you might get there...

Therapy is both a wonderful and equally a challenging experience. There is nothing to ‘tell you’ as the information is already within you.  You DO have all the answers, what you maybe need are the right Questions...

Practice description

Current practice is TELEPHONE or ZOOM.   For your reassurance, longitudinal research studies have long established the excellent outcome comparisons of telephone counselling in comparison to face to face sessions.

Calls are 50 minutes, up to one hour.

Longer sessions can be arranged if necessary.

Sessions can be approached systematically, seeking an agreed object (goal) or simply dealing with whatever presents itself on the day.  Session pace and content will be tailored to what you need and to what you find manageable.

My first session

Generally the first session invites you to talk about what is going on for you, and the impact or intrusion this situation is having. The introduction invites you to get to know me as well, and to ask any questions.

Often this session identifies the direction you want to go, and what obstacles are holding you back, and the conflicts that complicate things, whether that's decision making or acting on those thoughts.
