About me and my therapy practice
There are times in all of our lives when we are not OK, and believe that no one can understand our struggles, that we alone should fix them, or that we will never change for the better. But it needn’t be like this.
How I can support you
Psychotherapy and counselling can support you through these difficulties. By working together you can turn these struggles around and lead a positive, fulfilling life.
I’m a Counsellor and Psychotherapist in advanced clinical training in an MSc and Certified Transactional Analyst. I also hold a Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling from the highly recognised Metanoia Institute, the leading UK provider of specialist higher education in the disciplines of psychotherapy and counselling psychology. My training and qualifications with Metanoia are level 7 and validated by Middlesex University. I've worked as a counsellor at MCPS in West London, Centred of Change in Croydon and I am currently volunteering at CGL STARS (South-End Treatment and Recovery Services) in Essex.
Prior to being a psychotherapeutic counsellor my professional career was in the corporate, business and tech start-up worlds; holding senior positions in a wide range of sectors including finance, technology, marketing, retail and travel. Having settled in the UK since 2002 my life experiences include living in different cultures and societies acoss four different continents. In addition to my psychotherapeutic qualifications I hold a Bachelor of Economics as well as a Bachelor of Visual Arts from the University of Sydney.
What you bring to therapy is personal and can also be profoundly private. Ensuring your confidentiality and your safety are of upmost importance to me, so that you can feel safe and protected to explore freely all aspect of your self, without fear and without judgement.
As part of this approach I strictly adhere to the Data Protection practices that are legally required by GDPR regulations, and by the Information Commissioner’s Office (with which I am registered - registration number ZB229088). You can view details of my Privacy and Digital policy.
My ethical practice
I am a Registered Member of British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), trainee member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), the International Association of Relational Transactional Analysis (IARTA) and the European Association of Transactional Analysis (EATA). I abide by all of their ethical codes, which can be found on their respective websites.
My first session
Normally we would work together once a week, in 50 minute sessions. I offer a free, initial 30-minute phone consultation so you can get a feel of how we can work together. There's no ongoing obligation after this initial free consultation.
I see my clients either in person in my practice room in Springfield (north Chelmsford), or remotely via Zoom video. During Covid-19 restrictions I follow all government guidelines for our mutual safety.
