About me and my therapy practice
Sarah Reed offers one to one therapy sessions out of professional offices in the East Midlands where you can safely explore your inner thoughts, feelings and experiences with a highly empathic counsellor.
There are many reasons for seeking out counselling or support with your mental health. Maybe you have experienced a life changing event or are processing the loss of someone or something very important to you. It could be that you want to work with an experience from your past or anticipate a change coming in your future that you wish to be fully prepared for.
Sometimes people need support for something less tangible, possibly a sense that something isn't quite right with the way they are experiencing life, maybe struggling with low mood or anxiety, maybe struggling with difficult decisions or the way that the relationships around them don't seem to quite make sense.
It is up to you what goals that you set in therapy, and Sarah has experience in providing both short and long term therapy.
Sarah is an Integrative Counsellor which means that she works with a broad set of tools and techniques that she brings to her work rather than following one theoretical standpoint. She is trained to a MSc level in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy and has a background as a physiotherapist and in human science, so is committed to working with theories and tools that have a strong evidence base.
These include: Person Centred Theory; Attachment Theory; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT); Compassionate Focussed Therapy (Advanced Training with Paul Gilbert); Body Psychotherapy for Trauma (Full Year Training with Babette Rothschild)
