About me and my therapy practice
As an Integrative Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist, I offer a safe space to explore a child or young person's difficulties within a warm and empathic atmosphere.
I make use of creative interventions to facilitate this exploration and establish a safe therapeutic relationship where all parts of the child or adolescent can be explored and thought about.
I work collaboratively with parents and carers in order to bring about a holistic understanding of the young person's unique needs. My aim is to provide a supportive space to explore existing strengths in the family that will promote empathy and build resilience.
I am an Integrative Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist with over 6 years' experience working in schools, charitable organisations and private settings. My therapeutic framework integrates psychoanalysis, attachment theory and trauma informed approaches offering a sensitive understanding of the young person's difficulties.
Originally from Uruguay, I started working in London as a volunteer supporting young people and their families in 2010. I became passionate about supporting children and young people to improve their mental and emotional health by making use of creative interventions. This passion led me to train formally in the UK and I eventually graduated with a MA in Integrative Child Psychotherapy from the University of East London.
I hold a graduate membership of the Institute of the Arts and Therapy in Education (IATE) https://artspsychotherapy.org/ , a registered membership for the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and hold professional insurance to conduct face to face and online sessions.
My first session
On the first consultation with parents/carers, we will discuss the main areas of concern and identify the areas therapy could help with. If I am unable to offer the help you require for your child, I will aim to refer you to another professional or support you in seeking the appropriate support.
On the first session with the child/ young person, I will introduce myself and the work and model an open dialogue where they can express how they feel about starting the process.
