I am an Integrative Psychotherapist, qualified to Masters level and accredited by the BACP. I draw on different techniques to support you, tailoring my approach to meet your specific needs. I am Person Centred, which means that I believe that you hold the solutions to your problems; my role is to act as an empathic, non judgemental listener who works with honesty and compassion. I act as a mirror to help you see your own solutions. I also use Psychodynamic training to help us better understand how your childhood experiences have led to your current relational patterns. Through CBT techniques I can give you strategies to cope with daily challenges. I use Psychoeducation as I believe that it's critical to empower you with psychological insights that can help you in the future.
We would meet in a confidential, private, comfortable counselling room in my home in Nailsworth (situated behind the Town Hall), with its own entrance There is a toilet next to the counselling room; both separate from the rest of the house. Parking at the Town Hall car park is free (GL6 0JF).
Each session is one full hour. We agree to meet at the same time every week, at a mutually convenient time. After our trial session, I ask clients to commit to eight sessions, as this is usually the time needed for change to take place. However, this is dictated by you. We review regularly to check the value of the sessions and whether you wish to continue.
