About me and my therapy practice

Working together

If your goal is to create balance, build up your self esteem, find a quiet sanctuary to explore yourself and start to feel comfortable with what you have to offer life (and what it has to offer you) then I might be the right counsellor for you.

What's counselling like with me?

I work with you as an individual to offer warmth and understanding as well as information and education to help support you to discover what you want your life to be. I offer time that is yours, filled with safety, kindness, help and humour. Whatever you need to bring, however deep the sadness, pain or worry goes, I will be with you. I am a qualified and registered counsellor and also have an accredited psychology degree which means we have the benefit of being able to collaborate and pull in from different areas to find the way to work that feels best for you.

My specialist area is self esteem, which can weave into all areas of our lives including struggles with anxiety and depression, people pleasing and confidence.

Practice description

How would you like to work together?

I offer Face to Face sessions in Dorchester from a small, friendly office with plenty of parking space outside and privacy. I also am qualified to offer telephone and Zoom sessions if these would suit you.

We work out together what you would like and if you want to commit to a certain amount that's ok, and if you want to work in an open ended way that's also ok.

Contact me

If I sound like a good fit for you, please email me and we can arrange a time to chat. I offer a free 15-20 minute call to talk about what you want and how we can work together. My email is Reach out and see if we can move forward together.

My first session

Before our first session we have a telephone call to talk through what you're looking for, what your availability is and decide if we feel like a good fit together. Then we book in our first session.

During our first session we go over our contract to work together- this sets out things like payments, cancellation policies and confidentiality amongst a few other bits. Then we slowly work our way through a few questions- these are a mixture of information I need in case of an emergency and information you want to share about yourself and your circumstances. Lots of people find this is a nice slow way to start opening up in the first session.

Thats it!
