About me and my therapy practice
When we talk to a trained therapist they are listening very carefully to what we say, how we are saying it and watching our body language. If you say something that seems very significant or your body language shows a conflict with your words the therapist will gently highlight your words back to you, or point out your body language to you, so that you can explore that further. It is also very good for our mental health to offload what is going on for us or what has happened in our past.
This type of therapy is called Person Centred Therapy, it puts you at the core of your own therapy, the direction of the therapy is completely your choice, you choose what to talk about and what is important for you. You can choose not to talk about certain areas of your life if you don't feel comfortable doing so.
Alongside this we can explore the way you feel emotions through Emotion Focused Therapy, we can do what is termed chair work where you direct your words at a chair as if a person you want to talk to is in it. I also offer relaxation, hypnotherapy and discussion work to find ways to help you to find ways to reduce stress and anxiety without resorting to medication. I am also knowledgeable in the types of medication available for low level anxiety through to strong anti psychotic medication.
I am calm, emphatic non-judgemental and friendly. I would be very happy to work with you through your journey at a pace that works for you.
I am currently able to provide face to face therapy within Cosmetic Beauty Clinic in Golborne. I am also offering telephone counselling.
I am an Integrated Therapist, primarily trained in Person Centred Therapy. this is a form of talking therapy where the two of us work together by talking through your issues with you choosing the direction your sessions flow in. If you are not happy talking about certain parts of your life that is your choice.
My first session
All sessions are 50 minutes long.
