About me and my therapy practice
I offer therapy to individuals and couples, both online and at my practice near Heathfield.
I work relationally, which means that I believe the relationship between therapist and client is a really important part of the healing work of therapy.
I also use Transactional Analysis (TA), which helps people understand themselves by exploring how they relate to others and themselves – and why these patterns of relating were formed. The core beliefs in TA are that everyone is OK, everyone can think and everyone can change.
I work both short and long term with therapy clients on a range of issues, such as depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, relationship issues and self-fulfilment.
As well as talking therapy, I also offer Brainspotting, a technique which can help process and release trauma.
Practice description
Individual therapy
Maybe you're coming to therapy with a definite issue that you are able to name, but perhaps you feel sad or not quite yourself, and you’re not sure why. Whatever you are experiencing that is causing you overwhelm or discomfort, we can work through together.
What to expect
Therapy sessions are all unique. Some weeks you may simply want to talk and feel better for getting things off your chest. In other sessions, we may think together about things you can try to help feel less anxious or overwhelmed, or I might offer insights on your situation for us to talk through together. Each session is personal to you and what you need - it’s impossible to get it wrong!
I offer weekly 50-minute individual therapy sessions, either in person on online, costing £60 each.
Couples therapy
If you are having relationship difficulties or would like to improve your relationship in some way, couples therapy can help.
In couples therapy, all three of us focus on how to improve your relationship, so you can both have a happier and more fulfilled life together.
What to expect
Couples therapy is more structured than individual therapy and is focussed on a goal for your relationship that the two of you create and agree on.
I will usually offer practical suggestions to try between sessions, which helps to keep you both on track.
How I work with couples
Couples therapy is usually weekly for the first two sessions, and then fortnightly after that. Couples typically come for 8-12 sessions, but this can vary.
Couples sessions are 90 minutes and cost £120 per session. We can work in person or online.
My first session
I offer a free initial 30-minute consultation for individual and couples therapy, so you can see how you feel about working with me and talk through any questions or concerns you have about the therapy process.
This session is usually via Zoom, but can be in person, if you prefer.
