About me and my therapy practice
It takes a lot of courage to ask for support when you’re feeling down. You may have a particular issue you want help with, such as illness, work, bereavement, or a relationship problem. You may have a nagging feeling that things are not right, but you can’t work out where that feeling is coming from. Or you may have reached a point in time when you want to examine your life so far and work out what’s important to you and what is not.
Sometimes it doesn’t feel comfortable talking about these things with friends or family. Everyone seems to have an opinion about your situation, or they want to tell you what to do.
As a professional counsellor, I offer a safe, supportive, and confidential space where we can talk about problems, difficult feelings, thoughts, and patterns of behaviour. You can unburden yourself without judgement and there is no subject which is off-limits.
I have an Honours degree in Integrative-Relational Counselling, which means I am trained in a variety of theoretical approaches and can tailor your therapy to the style which best suits you.
One of my primary beliefs is that for counselling to be successful, it is essential that you find the right person for you: someone you can connect with and feel comfortable and secure opening up to.
I have had experience with a large variety of issues including self-esteem, anxiety, relationship and sexual difficulties, domestic abuse, and bereavement.
I work from my private office in Reigate, where you can feel completely safe to tell me anything.
I offer therapy on a weekly session basis and I will also be offering Single Session Therapy from October 2021.
My first session
I usually suggest that we have an introductory meeting before agreeing to work together. This session will be about exploring what feels most important to you and I am happy to answer any questions you may have.
I will listen to what you would like to achieve and let you know if it is something I can help with or whether I feel another service or professional might be better suited to your needs.
If we decide that we can work together, I usually suggest we start with six sessions. Some clients wish to work longer term and that can also be arranged.
