About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Jean.
I’m an integrative counsellor who feels passionately that we all have worth and value. Sometimes we need help and support to clear the hurt and debris from the past or work through hurdles impacting us in the present. Helping clients discover who they are and watching them grow is a passion of mine. I’ve had my own journey through counselling and working on myself. As with most of us, it is an ongoing process which helped me and others change to walk more lightly in life.
The counselling relationship is a key ingredient for successful counselling. I aim to understand you without judgment; in a safe, empathetic, confidential counselling environment.
Being trained as an Integrative Counsellor means that I can draw on different theories including Person Centred, Transaction Analysis and Gestalt. These are helpful in sessions as they offer diverse understanding, flexibility and perspective. I also offer creative interventions, which help to work at a deeper level and bring lasting change.
Along with working in Private Practise, I also have 5 years experience in working at a local agency seeing clients for all forms of pregnacy loss.
Where approprate I share information or psychoeducation with clients so they can gain understanding, build resilience and independence.
I work with individuals for both long and short term work.
I offer a free no-obligation 15 minute telephone consultation to assitant needs and see if I can be of help. Please contact me if you would like to arrange a time.
I see some clients in person - Face to Face
I also use several on-line platforms - Zoom, Whatsapp and Skype.
This has worked seamlesly and many clients prefer the conveniance and saftey of being in their own home.
I offer both short and long term work.
Sessions are 60 minutes.
I also offer longer sessions of 1:30 minutes Please ask for a price.
My first session
I like to have an informal short telephone consultation before the first session. This is just helpful to answer any questions, negotiate days, times and see if we feel we can both work together.
Our first session would be about getting to know each other and how we would work together. Then I take some details, like medical history, previous counselling experiance and why you've come. I also like to explore what you hoping for from coming to counselling.
It's an opportunity for you to ask questions and explore if it's for you.
First sessions are chargable at normal rate.
