About me and my therapy practice
About me....
Hello and welcome to my page. I understand starting this process can be hard. If after reading my profile, you would like to know more, I would be happy to have an initial phone or email conversation to see if I may be of help. I
I have worked with adults and children and families for over 14 years. Since qualifying as a therapist, I have worked therapeutically in a variety of settings including, private practice, statutory, voluntary and the private sector. The therapeutic relationship is at the heart of how I work. I bring an empathic, attuned, respectful and sensitive approach to therapy sessions, using my experience and knowledge to support a process of exploration, change and growth, and a reduction in distress and difficult to manage feelings and connected behaviour.
I also hold a Higher Professional Diploma in Counselling and a Level 6 in Clinical Supervision. i I sometimes use play and the arts to help clients fully express themselves in a safe and creative way.
I have a private practice in Peckham & Dulwich, South East London. I see teenagers, young adults and adults presenting with a range of emotional and behavioural difficulties. Some of these include chronic anxiety, depression, bereavement, cultural oppression, self harm, chronic illness, gender identity issues, bullying and separation and divorce. I am fully insured and DBS checked.
Long-term face-to-face work, Online counselling, Short-term face-to-face work
Practice description
Although trained as a Person Centred therapist, I have undertaken further extensive study in areas of Transcultural Counselling and Christian Counselling. I have also chosen to integrate a range of theoretical and clinical perspectives to develop and support my clinical work with clients, perspectives such as: attachment theory, transactional analysis, systemic theory and cognitive distortions. I sometimes use play and the arts to help clients fully express themselves in a safe and creative way.
