About me and my therapy practice
Hi, my name is Sara. Let’s imagine that you and I are going on a car journey together. You as the driver and me as the passenger. Whilst I will sit beside you throughout our ‘road trip’, it will be you who decides on the route we take, how fast we go, where we stop and what we see. This, in a nutshell, is my approach to counselling.
Counselling can be a challenging process and it can be scary to take that first step. Rest assured that a warm welcome awaits you and I will do all I can to put you at ease. Ultimately, counselling may bring about lasting and meaningful change and enhance your overall sense of well-being, helping you to release emotional baggage from your past and/or present and to move forward with a sense of purpose and a greater control of your own life.

I am a Humanistic and Integrative counsellor which means I draw from a variety of approaches best suited to my clients. In this way, I am able to bring in elements of different theories and perspectives that allow me to tailor your therapy to suit you, your needs and requirements, recognising that we are all unique and no one type of therapy will suit everyone.
Together, in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space, we will look to explore and unravel what is troubling and distressing you. For example, you may want to gain awareness and understanding of a particular obstacle, explore issues from the past or present that are not sitting comfortably with you, feel supported through a life event or dig deeper into the possibility of making changes to your life or your relationships. My aim is to understand things from your perspective, to put one foot into your world and support you on the path towards your desired outcome, ultimately strengthening you, promoting your curiosity and encouraging and enabling you to deal with your emotions, worries and concerns more effectively.
My first session
At the heart of the counselling process is the relationship between client and therapist. It is important that you feel comfortable with me and that we are the right fit for each other. I offer a free 15 minute Zoom call that gives us the opportunity to get to know each other before alongside looking at available and suitable times for counselling.
