About me and my therapy practice
I have worked as a counsellor for fifteen years in either private practice or as a work place counsellor. Healing our psychological pain whether from anxiety, worry, depression or trauma is a crucial part of my work.
I believe the most important factor is the relationship I create with my clients, and I work hard to achieve an honest, trusting and effective relationship. I do believe our past is important and so I will explore what clients childhood and early experiences were like.
Our inner environment, our thoughts, feelings and beliefs sometimes are difficult to manage, for example racing thoughts keeping us awake. Counselling allows for these to be worked through non judgementally.
There are something like 400 different therapy models and fortunately I tend to use psychodynamic, psychoanalytic and person centred models at the heart of my work.
I have worked with clients from the LGBTQ community, both adolescent and adults.
My work with couples focusses upon the relationship and how they both see and address their issues.
