About me and my therapy practice

I am an integrative counsellor; this means that my qualifications and experience enable me to access a range of different approaches. This combined approach brings together elements of many different therapies.

My view is that because we are all different there is no single approach that fits us all.

I can therefore work with you to find and provide the best approach for you, giving you space to explore your concerns and how these can be different in the future.

If you are looking for something different, I have completed some additional training to enable me to work with you outside in the natural environment.  Being outside in nature can be therapeutic, helping with anxiety and emotional overwhelm. This is also known as Ecotherapy.

This can be walking and talking, sitting together, being mindful, or being creative outside. The healing properties of the natural world can slow our thoughts and help us to reflect on current or past events in a different way.

Adding counselling to this can give you a different experience and perspective; one that benefits both your emotional and physical health.

When working with anxiety and emotional overwhelm, I aim to facilitate self regulation using breath awareness, mindful and meditative practice.

Practice description

Good emotional health is as important to us as good physical health and talking is one way of helping us to regain, sustain or strengthen our emotional wellbeing.

Counselling has been described as expert talking therapy. Coming to counselling will provide a safe and private space for you to talk about anything preventing you from feeling okay.

Some people use this space to explore how to respond differently to life events and others use it to become more self-aware; enabling further personal achievement or change. Whatever your need, counselling can provide you with a range of life changing opportunities.

The cause of not feeling okay emotionally can be due to any number of situations and can include the memory of traumatic events, the death of someone you know, problems with your relationships; at work or at home, or feeling that something is just not right.

You may be facing a major change or having to make a difficult choice. If you are feeling alone and don’t want to talk to friends or family then talking to me may help.
