About me and my therapy practice
I appreciate it can be difficult choosing a counsellor that you feel comfortable working with. I am a firm believer that the relationship between the counsellor and the client is extremely important. You are free to discuss what you wish from everyday events, dilemmas, feelings, worries etc. Modern life can be very difficult and we can find ourselves overwhelmed. Talking with a trustworthy, respectful and confidential person can help you to take the time to express your fears, worries and emotions and provide a space for you to move beyond the difficulties you find yourself experiencing, and at the same time help you to achieve more clarity.
I qualified as a person-centred counsellor in 2002. Since then I have worked with many adults, children, young people and familes experiencing a wide range of issues including: trauma, depression, terminal illness, anxiety, sexual abuse and many others.
For the past 14 years I have been employed as an Adult and Children's Counsellor and Manager of the family support service at a local hospice. During that time, I have gained extensive experience working with those who have a life limiting condition and receiving palliative care. I have managed and facilitated bereavement groups and workshops for both adults and children. I also have a wide experience in training.
I enjoy working as a counsellor both with children and adults. I believe every human being is unique and has the capacity to recognise their own needs.
