Welcome to my profile, my name is Claire. I am a qualified counsellor offering person centred therapy; online or by telephone to individuals over the age of 18 years. You may be feeling overwhelmed, sad or stressed at the moment. These feelings can manifest in many ways; trouble sleeping, low mood, feeling anxious or struggling to focus on your work / personal life. You may feel that you need to explore your worries, concerns and behaviours in a non judgemental and confidential space. I am able to offer a supportive and relaxed environment where you can talk openly about issues that are causing you anxiety, distress or depression. Life provides a variety of experiences for us all, some of which are great but then there's others, which leave us feeling traumatised, sad or with unfinished business. I work with many different issues and have extensive experience in working with clients that have suffered trauma and bereavement.
You may know the reasons why you are seeking counselling, but then again you might not, you just know that you are not feeling yourself or taking any pleasure from life. I will support you and work with you, to improve your emotional well being.
I work in a person centred way and the sessions are yours to use as you wish. I will work at your pace and can offer short or long term counselling.
It's really important that you find the right counsellor for you, that's why I offer a free, up to 30 minutes, initial consultation so that you can meet me ( via video conferencing or telephone) and we can discuss what you want to get out of the counselling. I like to think of myself as a down to earth, approachable person and I completely understand that it can be nerve racking contacting a counsellor for the first time and so I do my very best to make you feel comfortable and at ease.
I offer a warm and supportive therapeutic environment for you to explore what you need to. You may be feeling nervous or vulnerable at the moment and I hope I can put you at ease and help to improve your emotional well being. I work remotely (on Zoom or by telephone) and have morning, afternoon and evening sessions available.
My first session
Prior to our first counselling session together, I offer a free, up to 30 minutes, initial consultation so that you can meet me and ask any questions you may have. You can then make your decision about whether you would like to have counselling sessions with me.
