About me and my therapy practice

My name is Jayne, I’m a Person Centered Counsellor and Mindfulness advocate.

I understand that taking the step towards change may be daunting and it has to be the right time for you. I can offer you a discreet, confidential and safe place for you to begin what could be the most important journey of your life, the journey towards acceptance of your self.

I believe that every person, whoever they are or whatever they have experienced deserves respect, autonomy and peace of mind. It is alongside this belief that I can offer you, throughout a series of weekly meetings, the time to speak freely, confidentially and without judgement to help you to work towards a more balanced state of emotional, psychological and spiritual wellbeing that suits just you. I will help you learn to listen to yourself, re-engage with your feelings and trust that you will make choices that are right for you. I have practised mindfulness meditation for most of my life and often draw from this ancient approach to inform my practices.

During our journey together, I will interact with you, never judge and totally accept what you bring to the table, where together we can pull apart the issues that arise and work out what is holding you back.  Then I will support and encourage you towards acceptance of your self.

Drawing from my own life experiences, I have developed a deep sense of empathy and compassion towards others which I feel has led me to this profession. My most recent professional experience has been gained from working as in-house counsellor for a neurological centre, seeing residents, care staff and families of those affected by life changing diagnosis. This aside, I would not consider any topic brought to me as one that we could not explore, I believe that our interpretation of our experiences differ immensely and to label any as “issues” could potentially be restrictive. If it is bothering you – then it is worth exploring.

Practice description

My practice room is discreetly located within Total Physio offices in the lovely village of Wheelton, near Chorley.  There are comfortable vinyl bucket chairs, handwashing facilities and windows with a view over the village.  Currently, for protection from CV-19 I am asking clients to bring their own PPE, tissues and pens, but all can be provided if necessary.

I am in the unique and fortunate position to be able to continue  practicing face to face sessions by following strict COVID-19 guidelines, and our seating is at least 2m apart.  I require a consent form for track and trace if required, only details of whom I have met would be passed and no mention of in what context for confidentiality purposes.   The common areas are well ventilated and there is enough space for social distancing.  After each session all hard surfaces are thoroughly sanitised.

My first session

I offer a free 30 minute no obligation chat before starting your journey, either face to face or over the telephone.  This is the time where we can ask each other appropriate questions and make sure we are the right match.  If you decide to proceed, we can agree an appointment schedule and payment terms, weekly pay as you go or book in advance for a 10% discount.

Then our first face to face meeting will be a run through a  agreement of what we can expect from each other including our boundaries; and then, when you are ready to begin, I will be right by your side ready to start the process of regaining your true self.
