About me and my therapy practice
Hi my name is Helen and I work with Adults, Young People, Teenagers and Young Children. I have 2 x therapy rooms in a private location, located between Sudbury (Suffolk) and Halstead (Essex) with free parking. I have one private, cosy, therapy room and I have a larger therapy room where I offer art and play therapy for younger children. Both rooms offer a safe space.
Covid-19 – Due to the current situation and public health my Play Therapy sessions for younger children is currently on hold. I am offering online counselling via Zoom / Skype and other platforms as well as offering telephone counselling for older children, young people, and adults. (Face to face sessions are extremely limited due to Covid-19). These are tough times and support around mental health is ever more important.
If you feel you would like to gain more self-confidence, a stronger sense of identity, help with anxiety, bullying, exam stress, work/ employment worries /issues, building healthy interpersonal relationships or you feel your child could benefit from receiving some play therapy to help with their emotions, I can help.
I offer warmth, empathy and a safe, confidential therapeutic space to help you explore your feelings in a non-judgemental way, at your own pace. I offer a safe, confidential and caring environment to allow children to explore their thoughts / feelings using art and play.
I am a registered Member of BACP (MBACP) and follow their code of Ethics & Standards.
I understand that approaching a Counsellor could feel daunting, not knowing what to say or ask / wondering is this right for me/my child? That is ok. Please do contact me. I am happy to give a free 20 mins telephone consultation for us to get to know each other and to see if I could be of help to either you or your child.
I offer a sliding scale fee system, please ask for more details. I accept therapy payment via; card, bank transfer.
My first session
Counselling Therapy sessions last for 50 mins.
However, for the first session I like to allow extra time, up to 90 mins. This is because of I will be gathering information and there will be forms to complete if you decide to attend therapy with me. (I do not charge extra for this extra time).
I like my clients to be able to get to know me and for me to get to know them and this session is important for us both to see if I can help you and for you to decide if you would like to attend therapy with me. Choosing a counsellor is a personal experience and I wish clients to feel safe and comfortable in their first session so that they can discuss their issues with me, and for us to start to form a good therapeutic relationship.
