About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Deborah - thank you for taking the time to look at my listing to allow me the opportunity to introduce myself. My practice offers a safe, non-judgemental space for us to work together and my focus is helping you connect to the best of you. You are the expert of you and as another human being sitting beside you, we can work through whatever brings you to therapy together.
We are so often limited by negative beliefs about ourselves which can cause distress. If we can find the connections within ourselves which are right for us then we can be our best selves, live to our full potential and connect strongly to ourselves and our social worlds. Therapy can help your own resourcefulness and break unhelpful patterns/vicious cycles.
About me and my practice - I am a fully qualified counsellor/Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) having completed a CBT Diploma in Counselling and Group Work, as well as the COSCA Certificate in Counselling Skills.
In therapy, what we add to our toolbox as either client or therapist provides a wider range of helpful techniques. I am also a qualified Havening Techniques® Practitioner and can offer this as either a standalone therapy or I may suggest we can incorporate one or more of the techniques if you as client and myself as therapist consider this would be of benefit as we move through your therapy sessions.
I can help with anxiety disorders, low mood/depression, low self-esteem, stress, panic attacks, grief, traumatic/stressful life events, addictions, negative thinking, confidence to move forward and relaxation.
My first session
We can have an initial free 20 minute telephone chat to briefly discuss what brings you to therapy. This helps us to establish if I would be a suitable therapist for you. We can also use this time to discuss any questions you may have. This can also be undertaken by email if you prefer.
During our first 50 minute session, we will have space to look further at the issues you wish to explore, as well as undertake some paperwork including the therapy contract.
Sessions are paid by bank transfer the day before each session.
