About me and my therapy practice

I am an accredited member of the BACP and an experienced Person-Centred Humanistic counsellor, offering trauma focused therapy sessions.

How would it be to have your voice heard, understood and considered? Sometimes the relief of just being able to express how you really feel, can be a lifeline!

If we tend to always think the same things, we generally act the same way, then we get the same outcome, and finally... we call it fate!

Would you like to reduce judging and second guessing yourself?

Want to be more comfortable in decision making?

Could life be easier if you could set healthy boundaries?

Would you like to try to understand, what holds you back in life?

I invite you use these counselling sessions to take control of your next steps, and new ways of being.

Our counselling sessions would give you a space where you are not rushed, judged or pressured. Where your thoughts and feelings are heard, valued and explored with respect.

Finding some self-acceptance and ways to be kinder to yourself can bring awareness of your journey, and what you would like next.

We would form a bespoke therapy plan for you.

I offer trauma informed counselling for general mind maintenance impacts of past/present experiences. Relationship difficulties, changes to health, work, to build internal resources for the life you hope to have.

I counsel people 18 and over, experiencing many things - bereavement/grief/loss, relationship difficulties, complex trauma, crime related violence/rape, domestic/other abuse, (PTSD & resulting symptoms) depression, anxiety, guilt/shame and those managing life limiting/changing conditions (patients, family members & carers).

I have solid counselling experience with various health conditions and neurodiversity. I have counselled within a hospice setting and provide sessions for a valued Kent based charity, offering complex trauma counselling.

I offer a free 15-minute Tel call. If counselling is your next step, I would welcome an email, or call to arrange things.

Practice description

Taking steps to start counselling sessions can be hard at times. Many of my clients consistently say that their first session leaves them "feeling lighter," and further sessions are "better than they  expected counselling to be."

Isn't it often the case that we spend more time putting of what might help us? Later wishing we had done it sooner!

Feeling comfortable with your counsellor is key. I will take time to listen empathically and carefully to you, to gain a real sense of your experiences, concerns and goals. This helps me to tailor the sessions to your needs and pace.

In sessions, I expand on the pure Person-Centred approach, to use elements such as Transactional Analysis, Gestalt, Existentialism and Creative therapy, because sometimes it is difficult to put words to difficult thoughts and feelings.

I offer one to one, face to face (*or if appropriate telephone sessions) with regular reviews, to promote good outcomes, shared awareness and to strengthen our sessions.

There is a chance to increase self-worth and to gain useful tools, to sustain you, as you work through to your goals, and beyond our time together.

I have a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (Person Centred Humanistic).
