About me and my therapy practice
I have worked extensively with adolescents and young people for over 15 years. I believe that teaching young people how to befriend their brains is the key to well-being and is hugely empowering. My interest in acceptance and mindfulness based approaches began 6 years ago, and since then I have trained extensively in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and now deliver initiatives in school settings for adults and young people. I speaks regularly on the subject of adolescent mental health in schools and other organisations and have written 2 well-being programmes that run in schools in Berkshire. I also work with parents who want to learn more about their child's brain, so they can help them relate to their thoughts and feelings more skillfully. I also work with adults, in particular, those who have anxiety that gets in the way of them leading a normal valued based life.
I work from a beautiful garden room at home or alternatively provide therapy on zoom for clients that find this more convenient. I have run the Living Room counselling practice with Helen West for over 15 years.
My first session
The first session is free of charge and lasts approximately 30 minutes. It is an opportunity for us to meet and for you to decide if I am the sort of therapist you feel you would like to work with. We can also discuss confidentiality and I can answer any questions you may have about the process, as it can feel overwhelming.
