About me and my therapy practice
I specialise in anxiety, depression, relationship issues, work stress, and living with illness. I offer compassionate yet proactive therapy, drawing on experience gained in the NHS and over 19 years at the University of Oxford as a health researcher.
We all face times when we feel confused, stuck or lacking in clarity, yet we’d like to feel confident and clear. During these challenging or uncertain times, talking to someone who listens, yet has distance from the issue, can really help.
I offer non-judgemental, confidential, practical therapy in a safe and supportive space. Using an integrative person-centred approach to counselling, putting you at the heart of our work together, our sessions would involve working together towards understanding your thoughts, feelings, and any actions that you might want to take. A warm, respectful and trusting relationship would be an important part of working together at a pace that feels right for you.
Sometimes it’s hard to talk to family or friends, which can leave us feeling very alone. Counselling offers a space to talk about the things that you might have been bottling up or struggling with, a space to reflect, gain clarity and find solutions. I work with individuals and couples, depending on the situation, and offer evening and Saturday morning appointments.
I have worked with adults and young people in the NHS and in private practice, and draw on 19 years' experience gained at the University of Oxford, experience gained in NHS counselling, and in personal development coaching. My publications on people’s experiences of physical and mental health issues can be found at: https://www.phc.ox.ac.uk/team/suman-prinjha
