About me and my therapy practice
The wish to start therapy may be brought about by loss, trauma, significant life changes or simply by a desire to live a better and more satisfying life. Whatever the reason that brings you to therapy, I aim to provide you with a safe and confidential space in which a trusting relationship can evolve so we can start thinking about the issues that you are struggling with.
These may include painful feelings, disturbing thoughts, recurrent patterns of behaviour or difficult and unsuccessful relationships. They may have been caused by recent events or they may be anchored in past experiences and may have been going on for some time. Either way, I will use a psychodynamic approach to counselling, which I can integrate with CBT techniques, when appropriate.
If you would like to arrange an initial consultation, please do not hesitate to e-mail or ring. I am just a few bus stops away from Wimbledon, Morden, Raynes Park and Sutton.
Aside or working in private practice, I work with young people in educational settings and as an EAP counsellor supporting adults struggling with work related issues.
I am also a BUPA registered counsellor.
Currently, I only offer telephone counselling sessions in Morden and slots are available on Wednesday or Thursday mornings.
My first session
I offer an initial consultation which takes place over two consecutive weekly sessions.
The initial consultation is an opportunity to explore the issues affecting you in order to decide whether or not psycodynamic counselling is the most suitable approach for you. It is also a chance to experience the way I work and see whether or not you feel comfortable working with me.
If we agree to work together, before we start regular counselling, we will agree the length of your therapy and we will confirm the time and day of your sessions.
Therapy can be long term, open ended or short term (6 to 12 sessions.)
Sessions are 50 minutes long and take place once weekly, except during holiday breaks.
I offer counselling in English and Spanish.
