About me and my therapy practice
My practice focuses on the client in working collaboratively and creatively in a safe and confidential environment; a place to be heard and gain understanding without judgement where desired change, clarity, or a different way forward can be explored.
About me - My practice began working as a Counsellor for a national cancer charity within a major NHS Essex hospital for over 7 years. This role included counselling outpatients and inpatients and their families, facilitating staff training, supervising clinical nurse specialists, facilitating critical incident debriefs, and supporting front-line staff and inpatients through the COVID-19 pandemic. Alongside this, I have worked as a schools Counsellor and with a regional cancer charity. Established in 2018, I now work solely from my private practice.
My Integrative Approach - My training had a Psychodynamic focus where the past can be explored to help provide clues on the present while exploring the therapeutic relationship. I have a keen interest in the Transpersonal and working with the Inner Child. I offer the use of art, visualisation, objects and imagery, and working with the body to help explore issues at a deeper level.
My Qualifications - BACP Accredited and Registered Member Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic CounsellingLevel 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.Child Protection modules 1 & 2.Relational Trauma Therapy training taught by Merete Holm Brantbjerg (body-oriented therapy)
My fees - I charge £45 per 50 min session.
An initial session is £30 for 50 mins.
On some occasions I may be able to offer a reduced fee, so please ask if this is an important consideration and we can talk about this.
My student Counsellor concession rate is £40 per 50 min session.
I currently practice from a private residence in Billericay: 17 Froden Court, Billericay CM11 2TF
If you've found yourself here, then you may be experiencing current difficulties, feel you have lost your way in life, a relationship problem, feeling overwhelmed with family or work stresses or maybe past events being inexplicably triggered in the present.
I can help you find a way through. Whether it is with depression, anxiety, sleep issues, past trauma, overwhelming emotions, relationship issues, to help make sense of the past, together, with my skills and knowledge we can work on finding a way forward in a private and confidential space. In counselling, the working relationship is key and I provide the space for a trusting relationship to build for you to be able to discover what you need to begin to heal.
I work face-to face in a quiet and comfortable outbuilding at my private premises. While face-to-face is preferable there may be some occasions or arising circumstances where we may need to use alternative means. We have the option of virtual sessions online, the telephone and Walk & Talk therapy.
My first session
During our initial contact we would agree by phone or email a mutually convenient time to meet for a first session. Sessions are 50 minutes.
This is a time for you to find out if I am the right person for you. I feel the building of the counselling relationship is key to be able to work through whatever difficulty you are experiencing. A place where you can feel safe and cared for to be able to express your thoughts and feelings.
We will have opportunity to talk about your needs including frequency of sessions, times/days and fees; explore what might be helpful and how you would like to move forward; and explore how we can work together to support you in doing this.
