About me and my therapy practice
My practice focuses on the client in working collaboratively and creatively in a safe and confidential environment; a place to be heard and gain understanding without judgement where desired change, clarity, or a different way forward can be explored.
About me - As a Counsellor, I'm an experienced practitioner having worked primarily within the NHS with adults for a national cancer charity for over 4 years. I have worked as a schools Counsellor and more recently another regional cancer charity alongside private practice. My role within the NHS has included co-facilitating courses in communication skills and Mindfulness.
My Integrative Approach - My training had a Psychodynamic focus where the past can be explored to help provide clues on the present and exploring the therapeutic relationship. I also have a keen interest in the Transpersonal and working with the Inner Child. I offer the use of art, visualisations, objects and imagery to help explore issues at a deeper level.
My Qualifications - Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling, Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. Child Protection modules 1 & 2.
My fees - I charge £40 per 50 min session.
An initial session is £20 for 50 mins.
On some occasions I may be able to offer a reduced fee, so please ask if this is an important consideration and we can talk about this.
My student Counsellor concession rate is £35 per 50 min session.
I currently practice from a private residence in Billericay: 17 Froden Court, Billericay CM11 2TF
If you've found yourself here, then you may be experiencing current difficulties, feel you have lost your way in life, a relationship issue, feeling overwhelmed with family or work stresses. Counselling can help in having a private and confidential space to be able to explore a different way forward.
I work face-to face in a quiet and comfortable outbuilding at my private premises. While face-to-face is preferable there may be some occasions or arising circumstances where we may need to use alternative means of connecting for your sessions. We have the option of virtual sessions via video conferencing and the telephone.
My first session
After your contact we would agree by phone or email a mutually convenient time to meet for an initial session. Your initial is for 50 minutes as for sessions.
This is a time for you to find out if I am the right person for you. I feel the building of the counselling relationship is key to be able to work through whatever difficulty you are experiencing. A place where you can feel safe and cared for to be able to express your thoughts and feelings.
We will have opportunity to talk about your needs including frequency of sessions, times/days and fees; explore what might be helpful and how you would like to move forward; and explore how we can work together to support you in doing this.
