About me and my therapy practice
I am a Humanistic Integrative Counsellor which means I can draw on a number of different approaches to suit each client. I have an extensive range of experience in the workplace gained from working in industry and teaching and from being involved with the union and dealing with disputes. At the age of 62 I have extensive life experience too.
I worked in Manufacturing Industry for 11 years and then in Teaching for 22 years prior to training as a Counsellor.
I have experience working with survivors of sexual abuse at the charity Survivors in Hull, and also NHS staff at Occupational Health. Currently I work for the Hull Let's Talk Service at Focus Ltd. providing Counselling through the NHS IAPT service, which involves working with people with anxiety and depression. My private practice is in Leconfield.
I have taken a separate qualification in Counselling for Depression which is an area of specific work that I do at Focus. Areas of experience also include anxiety, bereavement, post-traumatic stress disorder, dissociative identity disorder, sexual abuse, and sexuality.
