About me and my therapy practice
Hello, a little bit about me, and my approach …
As person-centred, I hold the ethos that the individual has the answers within them, as how could I, or anybody else really know what's right for another's life? Yet, I understand, that it’s not always easy to hear or connect to this inner knowledge or direction, as it’s often silenced, or has never truly been heard. However, throughout my client work and own personal experience, I’ve found that exploration and reflection together with somebody who strives to genuinely and deeply understand, may support a journey towards wellbeing and potential that’s distinct as personality.

For individuals the counselling hour is 50 minutes, couples 60 or 90 minuets. Sessions are set at day and time we organise together. I also offer walk and talk, phone and e-counselling.
The therapy I provide is for individuals, couples and groups, either remotely via, video link, phone, or within my beautiful little counselling room, but always with 'you' the client at the heart.
I recognise life isn't always straight forward, difficulties and complications can make it hard for you to find your direction, and sometimes speaking to well meaning friends and family doesn't always help. This is when contacting a trained counsellor can be a good idea.
Listed below are the issues/concerns I work with:
A sense of emptiness
Lack of purpose or meaning
Fear of emotional intimacy and trust
Lack of confidence/low self-esteem
My first session
What is and why have an initial session?
I offer an initial 30 minute session, this can be face to face or via phone or video link. However, regardless of the platform of communication this is your chance to see if therapy with me is something you would like to pursue. It's also an opportunity for you to explore what you would like to 'get out' of therapy and have an insight into how I work. The counselling contract, including the boundaries and limitations of our sessions are also explained. If you are happy to continue, then we can find a mutually agreeable time and day to meet on a regular basis.
If we are meeting virtually then I will request your contact Skype, Webex or Zoom contact details. If we are meeting in the counselling room then I will send you exact location details of where to meet.
