About me and my therapy practice

Are you struggling with life, feeling stressed, anxious or depressed? Are you having relationship difficulties or have suffered a loss? Are you experiencing illness, low self-esteem or loneliness? You may be unclear of exactly what is troubling you, we can explore this together.

I can offer a safe, confidential space to bring whatever you need to explore. You may want to see me on an open-ended basis to explore things at depth, or you may only want a limited amount of sessions to work through something that feels difficult in the present, I welcome both.

I am an experienced counsellor/psychotherapist and accredited, registered member of the BACP. For over 16 years I have enjoyed co-creating many unique therapeutic relationships. I have an established private practice in Birmingham and also see clients in a therapy room in Stourbridge town centre.

I believe that for counselling/psychotherapy to work, it is crucial to have a safe, respectful relationship in which you can be yourself without fear of judgement. I believe the relationship is key. The relationship I offer you is a human one, a person to person relationship. We can talk about what you hope to gain from counselling/psychotherapy and I will work in a flexible, creative way to meet your needs as best I can.

My approach is to value you as a whole person. I would welcome all of you: your feelings, thoughts, beliefs, experiences, embodied process and behaviours.

I would explore what is happening for you in the here and now whilst holding in awareness that our present is often influenced by our past. Although we can’t change the past, a containing therapeutic relationship could support you to work through and understand the impact of past experiences. This can make a difference to how you feel in the present and how you move forward in the future.
