- Flexible hours available
My availability for private practice is mostly evenings and weekends. I attempt wherever possible to ensure that we can agree sessions at the same time and day each week.
About me and my therapy practice
I am an integrative psychotherapist (MBACP), and currently in my final year of training as a Counselling Psychologist (DCounsPsy). My practice is LGBT+ affirming and I recognise the impact that social discrimination and prejudice can have on both physical and psychological health.
My core approach as a therapist draws from Short-Term Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. This way of working is exploratory and tracks the moment-to-moment experiences between the therapist and client at a deep relational level. Each session is focussed on problems in the here and now, and how these may link to past experiences. This is where the strength of the therapeutic relationship is fundamental in helping someone to explore and understand their internal processes and bring about lasting change.
I also integrate techniques and intervention from the schools of Humanistic and CBT psychotherapy, particularly where this might be helpful in resolving specific problems, or indicated for symptom management in The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidelines.
The model I work from is time-limited, ranging from 8 to 40 sessions, depending on the needs of the client.
I deliver all formal sessions through a professional Zoom video platform from a private home office, meaning that my clients are not restricted by location in the UK.
My private practice is indemnity insured and delivered in line with the BACP ethical framework and code of conduct. I am supervised by a HCPC registered Psychologist and accredited Psychodynamic Psychotherapist.
I offer a free 15 minute informal telephone consultation to discuss your needs before you commit to any fee payable sessions. If I am unlikely to be able to help, I will always attempt to signpost you to a different therapist or service. Please note that I do not offer therapy sessions via the telephone.
More information can be found on my website.
My first session
The initial 90 minute assessment session cost is £75.00 and involves talking in depth about the problems you are experiencing in the here and now, as well as your interpersonal relationships and experiences from earlier life. I will also explain what therapy involves and discuss any concerns that you may have. All treatment sessions after this point will last 60 minutes and cost £50 per session.
