About me and my therapy practice
Are you feeling stuck, anxious, depressed? The decision to start therapy can be a difficult first step towards healing, and finding the right therapist is crucial. Research shows that the relationship between counsellor and client is one of the main factors in successful therapy. We are often wounded in relationship, whether as children or as adults, and I believe it is in relationship that we can also be healed.
I'm a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) providing short- and long-term therapy from The Practice Rooms in central Norwich and from my home office in Wymondham.
My core training is person-centred. The person-centred approach moves away from the idea of the therapist as an expert who can fix you, trusting instead that you have the innate capacity to fulfil your own potential, given the right conditions. A strong and caring therapeutic relationship, based in genuine acceptance and empathic understanding, forms the foundation of person-centred therapy.
To get started, just send me an email (jimlcollier@gmail.com) or give me a call (07557 871103) to arrange an initial consultation.
In that first session, we'll meet to discuss what brings you to therapy, address any questions or concerns you might have, and see whether it feels right for us to work together. If you decide to continue, we can then arrange a regular time and day of the week that works for you.
What I can help with
Obsessions, Self-harm, OCD, Anxiety, Bereavement, Abuse, Loss, Post-traumatic stress, Trauma, Depression, Sexuality, Self esteem, Identity issues, Spirituality, Sexual identity, Men's issues, Relationships, Stress, Work related issues
