About me and my therapy practice
My aim is to provide a supportive, safe, confidential space to explore whatever your current difficulties are, helping you to gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships and giving you the skills to take control of your life.
The length of the work varies according to the individual or couple's needs and circumstances.
Short term work can be used to focus on a specific issue, a difficult decision or a particular goal or problem, a recent bereavement.
Open ended work can be used to explore difficulties in relationships, diffuse returning problems and anxiety, looking at painful feelings and ruminating thoughts, work through unresolved grief or traumatic incidents. My experience has taught me that people find defensive ways to cope. It may present as an eating disorder, an addiction, withdrawing from relationships, depression, problems sleeping and many more. My aim is to help you find positive, creative ways of working out or dealing with difficult feelings and thoughts. This often leads to feeling less stuck in life and results in healthy decision making.
