About me and my therapy practice
Hello there, I understand that this can be an apprehensive place to start, but I would like to offer you a warm welcoming safe, supportive, and non - judgmental space where you can be heard, and a space to reflect your underlying issues or any difficulties and barriers that you may have, whether it was from the past or the affects of the lockdown process as we are still unsure what would happen next.
When should you start therapy?
Therapy is not only good when you are a in crisis or at breaking point, but when we want to learn more about ourselves, overcoming barriers and difficulties, understanding how different times have affected us , when we want to have better relationships, when we want someone to care or just be there for us, , or when we feel interested.
My name is Bilkan Kilicer and I am a qualified Integrative counsellor, which means that I use different therapeutic approaches to support your needs. Additionally I also make use of my own personal experiences, as therapist can feel and go through the same experiences that you are going through today.
Counselling allows me to put myself "in your shoes", learn the way that it makes you feel, and by working therapeutically in a safe space, we can move in a steady pace and knock down any barriers, look at ways we have not looked before or complete goals you would love to achieve, connecting the dots together and looking at life in a different spectrum. Change can be a daunting, however by working together we can challenge that experience to overcome the pressures of the future.
I have worked with a charity called BCU life skills which help the unemployed, with any other complex context such as anxiety, depression, anger, sexuality, personality disorders, trauma, abuse and much more.
I have also worked for Beatbullying Croydon as a mentor to help young people talk about their struggles in life whether it could be a bereavement , the mental pressures of a workload, bullying, social or peer pressure.
My first session
What happens next?
The first session will be a 15-20 minute consultation free of charge, which will allow me to get personal details about you, getting a general background of why would you like therapy, but most importantly to get a general feel of compatibility of us working together and agreeing on the next step forward.
I can offer face to face, telephone or Zoom sessions, please contact me for info and availability.
