About me and my therapy practice

As a Counsellor/Psychotherapist my aim is to offer you a space and a relationship of trust and safety, truth and openness. A space in which you can begin to fully explore your self and all that is happening for you now. I will strive to enable you to do this in a supportive environment, free from judgement, evaluation, advice or guidance.

I will engage with you on a journey of increasing self-awareness, and I will offer you steadfast companionship as you explore any difficulties, pain, fear, confusion, loss, doubt and uncertainty, and move toward a place of inner peace and wholeness, awareness and personal understanding, living your life freer from pain, uncertainty and judgement, and lead more closely to your own true values and sense of self.

… to be that self which one truly is …

As a practitioner of the Person Centred Approach, I hold a belief that you are the expert on you, and that provided with the enabling conditions of Empathy, Unconditional Positive Regard and Congruence, in a genuine relationship, you will naturally begin to move, with increasing self-assuredness and certainty, toward living and being all that you truly are and all that you would truly like to be.

Counselling/Psychotherapy can help with many, if not all, of the difficulties that we experience in life. Over my 20 years in practice I have worked with clients who have come along experiencing, or with experience of, issues including :

depression  .  low self-worth  .  anxiety  .  anger  .  addiction  .  bullying . sexual abuse  .  domestic violence  .  bereavement  .  mental health crisis . difficulties at work  .  relationship breakdown  .  sex & sexuality . struggling with change  .  and sometimes an … “I just don’t know!”
