About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I'm Stephen, an experienced counsellor based in Bristol, BS8. I'm currently offering in person sessions in Clifton and sessions online. My goal as a therapist is to help you find new ways to resolve issues and make more informed choices in your life. Sessions offer a safe space to explore your feelings, emotions and thoughts. I have a particular interest in issues relating to sexuality and sexual identity and have extensive experience supporting members of the LGBTQ+ community. I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I have a Post Graduate Diploma (Distinction) in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Practice description

As an integrative therapist I tailor my approach to each client, drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches and techniques to improve wellbeing and self-awareness. I have helped many people who were: feeling anxious, depressed or low in self-confidence- experiencing relationship, work or career issues, questioning or struggling with their sexuality, at a crossroads in their life and seeking a more fulfilling future.

My first session

In our first meeting we will look at what brings you to therapy and explore what you hope to gain from counselling. I will be interested in hearing more about you and you will be able to ask about how I work. We can discuss how counselling might be able to support you and how we might work together in a collaborative way. Your first session will be charged at a reduced rate of £30.Our sessions will last fifty minutes and take place at the same time each week. There is no rule about how long therapy should last - it can range from a few weeks to a number of years and it is always your choice as to how long you wish to keep coming.
